Rising insecurity in Bogotá leads to the implementation of a new security plan in the city

Petty crime has been on the rise in Bogotá, Colombia’s capital. Even though terrorist threats are not as present now as twenty years ago, local authorities have struggled to contain theft and homicides. As the country moves forward after three months of protests and violent clashes between the population and police authorities, the government is currently implementing a new plan, focusing on increasing police resources, and targeting high crime areas.
